At $3,799.99, it sits at the very top of the gaming laptop market, competing with machines like the Razer Blade 16 (2025) and the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 Gen 10. We put it through weeks of testing — synthetic benchmarks, real-world gaming, display measurements, and daily productivity — to determine whether this machine earns its premium price tag.

Chassis, Build Quality & Ergonomics

The SCAR 16's design is unapologetically aggressive. The lid features ASUS's AniMe Vision LED matrix — a grid of 810 individually addressable LEDs that can display custom animations, text, or the default STRIX branding. A wraparound RGB light strip skirts the base, and per-key RGB backlighting completes the light show. It is a lot. If you prefer subtlety, a single press of the Stealth Mode key kills all external lighting instantly.
